PCOM 4+4 Medicine

  • 4+4 BS and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
  • Erie, Pennsylvania
  • 4+4 program with Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in Philadelphia, leading to a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree.
  • Qualified students will be conditionally guaranteed an interview with PCOM, an advantage over students at other institutions at the time of application.
  • Successful students in the 4+4 program will earn a bachelor’s degree in a chosen field from Gannon University prior to matriculating to PCOM.
  • Participation does not restrict students’ ability to apply to other medical schools.

Gannon University Undergraduate Entry Requirements

  • Complete four years of science courses and four years of math courses at the high school level
  • Achieve a cumulative high school GPA of 3.4 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • Obtain a rank in the top 25% of your high school class
  • Provide evidence of academic and personal potential, and a desire to become an osteopathic physician

Admissions Process

Students who meet all entry requirements listed below will be accepted on a rolling admission basis.

Affiliate Entry Requirements

  • Achieve a GPA of 3.50 cumulative and science cumulative through the end of junior year
  • Complete course requirements as listed in PCOM’s catalog.
  • Complete the Medical College Admissions Test as early as possible with the fall of the senior year being preferably the last date possible. The candidate must earn a minimum score of 504 composite and at least a 126 on each section of the MCAT.
  • Apply to PCOM through AACOMAS by October 31 of the senior year.
  • Submit the PCOM supplemental application by November 30 of the senior year.
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from an osteopathic physician (D.O.).
  • Complete a satisfactory admissions interview with PCOM.
  • Fulfill any additional requirements as outlined through the affiliation agreement between Gannon University and PCOM.

Each academic year, PCOM will admit up to three (3) students total from Gannon University’s medical affiliation programs. Additional students may be considered on an individual basis and at the discretion of PCOM.
