Bella Fried is a junior in the theater communications program at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ. Since her freshman year she has been involved across campus in organizations and activities like ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Schuster Theater, the Knightmare club, the Tabletop Gaming Club, and study abroad opportunities with the ABST and GIFT programs.
Fried recently performed in ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Schuster Theater production of “Making God Laugh”. Fried said she hesitated to lean into her love of theater over concerns about employment but realized that theatre was where their passions lied. Fried said “I’ve always done theater, it’s what I love and the more I got to know Schuster the more I wanted to be in Schuster.” Fried continued, “Then I met Angela who introduced me to more of the makeup and costume side of things and I became really interested in that. So instead of just being in it for the acting, in the behind-the-scenes stuff I get to do more art and if I can’t do art in my career, I don’t want to do it”.
About her experiences at the Schuster Fried noted “when you start any new play you get to meet a whole new cast and get to know them really well. You get to just do ridiculous things in front of people and when you do ridiculous things in front of people, you bond. There’s no coming back from that.”
Fried will be performing in the upcoming staged readings of “She Kills Monsters” on select dates from November 14 to 23.
