Gannon University invites students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to come together this February for two meaningful events that honor Black History Month through visibility, dialogue and shared experience.
Hosted by ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Black Students' Union, these events are designed to celebrate Black history while creating space for reflection, storytelling and connection across generations.
Monday, Feb. 9 | noon to 3 p.m.
Waldron Campus Center (outside Chick-fil-A)
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s campus community is invited to stop by the Waldron Campus Center to participate in a Black History Month photo opportunity. The informal event encourages students, faculty and staff to come together, snap a photo and show support for Black History Month in a visible and meaningful way.
Light snacks will be available to grab on the go, making it easy for community members to stop in between classes or meetings. The event centers on unity, pride and collective celebration — reminding the campus that honoring Black history is something we do together.
Thursday, Feb. 12 | 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Waldron Campus Center, Beyer Hall 304 (3rd floor)
Later in the week, the Black Students' Union will host its Alumni and Students Forum, an evening designed to foster intergenerational conversation and mentorship. The forum brings together current students and alumni for an open discussion focused on life experiences, career pathways and navigating the transition into the workforce.
Through storytelling and shared insight, students will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn from alumni perspectives and gain encouragement from those who have walked similar paths before them. The forum reflects ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s commitment to community, belonging and preparing students for life beyond the classroom.
