Gannon University continues to stand out as a leader in health education with several of its graduate programs earning top national rankings in the U.S. News & World Report 2025 Best Graduate Schools list.  

The newly released rankings highlight ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s excellence in preparing future healthcare professionals through high-impact, hands-on learning and expert faculty mentorship. This year, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s graduate programs were recognized among the nation’s best in: 

The UPMC Hamot School of Anesthesia/Gannon University Doctor of Nursing Practice - Nurse Anesthesia degree option is designed to provide professional nurses with an in-depth concentration in clinical anesthesia and to prepare graduates to assume the specialized role of nurse anesthetist. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to take the examination of the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.   

Occupational Therapy (OT) is a profession that works with a variety of individuals in all stages of the human life cycle to achieve health, well-being and participation in meaningful activities. Gannon University’s OT program offers direct entry into the major, teaching assistant positions, and many experiential and interprofessional opportunities such as international fieldwork opportunities, and a pro bono clinic.    

The Entry-Level Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) program is a comprehensive Bachelor’s to Doctorate pathway designed for those passionate about making a real impact on individuals' lives. This program provides deep, hands-on experience working with clients of all ages who face challenges in daily activities or are at risk of developing conditions that limit their independence. The OTD program prepares graduates as a scholar-practitioner to work with both individuals and communities, empowering clients through tailored solutions and preventative care. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s Physician Assistant (PA) program in Erie, Pa. has been educating physician assistants for more than 45 years and has over 1500 graduates. The Class of 2023 reported a 100% job placement rate based on survey responses, and the Class of 2024 has a first-time PANCE pass rate of 94% (National Exam First-time Taker Pass Rate for 2024: 92%). ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s PA program delivers high-quality education and clinical experiences that prepare students for continued success after graduation.  

The PA program at the Ruskin Campus offers hands-on experiences and curriculum that is predominantly clinical during the final year of the program. Students learn alongside regional medical faculty in conjunction with various health care institutions.  The program has an ultimate PANCE pass rate of 100 percent for all graduated cohorts.
