The most recent graduating class of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s family nurse practitioner (FNP) program received a 100% pass rate on their certification exams, shared representatives from the university’s Villa Maria School of Nursing. This is the second year in a row that the graduating FNP class has achieved this accomplishment following their initial time sitting for their exams.

“We were thrilled to learn of this immense success,” Carol Amann, Ph.D., RN-BC, CDP, FNGNA, associate director of the Villa Maria School of Nursing. “These results exemplify our students’ hard work, the quality of the education they received at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ and our faculty’s dedication to educating successful nurse practitioners.”

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s FNP program is a master’s level professional nursing program that expands upon a student’s prior nursing education and experience preparing them to assess, diagnose and provide advanced practice care for individuals, families and groups in the community setting.

Following successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to sit for both the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) exam or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) certification exams. Both the ANCC and the AANP certify registered nurses holding a Master of Science in Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner option to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)

In 1996, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ graduated its first FNP class. The program began formally as a face-to-face, in-class program. Currently the program has been fully transitioned to an online format, offering increased flexibility for students.

All programs within ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Villa Maria School of Nursing are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). For more information about the Villa Maria School of Nursing, please visit their web page.
