On Thursday, April 24, the Gannon University chapter of Psi Chi, a national honor society for psychology, held its 2024–25 induction ceremony. Psi Chi offers members lifelong opportunities for networking, scholarships and research.
The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ chapter of Psi Chi was originally founded in 1982 but had been considered dormant for several years leading up to this year’s induction.
Bradlee Gamblin, Ph.D., is the current faculty adviser for the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ chapter. Gamblin shared his motivation to get involved in the local chapter after joining ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ as a professor and was inspired to help revitalize it.
“Our department also sees this as a good way to get students more involved in the major, too,” he said. “Psi Chi offers great opportunities for students to get involved with their university, meet other students with similar interests, and make connections with professionals in the discipline. Since we began promoting the chapter’s revival, students have been very interested and motivated to join.”
This year, the chapter inducted 13 new students, including 12 psychology majors and one psychology minor.
