Walter Iwanenko Jr., Gannon University’s eighth president, was born in Flushing, N.Y., to immigrant parents from Poland and Ukraine. He graduated from Canisius High School in Buffalo, N.Y.

Mary Iwanenko currently serves as the director of health services and the university health center. Additionally, she teaches as an adjunct in the Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences.
